How come all the "contestants" on the Survivor Show have agreed to the really stupid theme behind Survivor?

I call Survivor by it's real name, Holocaust Part II.

Every week, the Survivors vote a member off the island.

Why?

Well, because that's how you find out who wins.

Why?

Well, because you have to a winner.

A winner???

Well yeah.

You mean, you can only have one winner?

Yeah.

Why???

Well, they couldn't give away the million dollars if they didn't have one contestant remaining.

Oh really.

Yeah, Besides, the contestants are only following orders.

Precisely my point, Survivor is really the Holocaust Part II.

The contestants are only following orders when they vote each other off the island.

After World War II had ended, The German Soldiers and Officers used the defense of "We were only following orders" during the Nuremburg trials. It was not validated.

Neither should the current rules for Survivor be validated.

Don't watch that piece of crap show, thinly veiled as Holocaust Part II.

What if the rules were changed for Survivor-Holocaust II.

What if you started with 16 contestants, and the million dollar prize money.

Every week, a contestant COULD be voted off the island, but it would not be mandatory.

If the contestants voted someone off the island, the remaining contestants would get a bigger share of the 1 million dollar prize.

But a new, and more important dynamic would be created.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO VOTE SOMEONE OFF THE ISLAND EVERY WEEK!!!

Currently, sleazy characters try and take all the money by being the last Holocaust Survivor.

What kind of a fucked up lesson is that?

Could we live in a more self-indulgent and depraved society than to create a show on how to trick other members into letting you be the last one standing so you get the million dollars?

Wouldn't real drama be not voting someone off every week, knowing that the more people remain, the less money each person takes home?

If the 16 members end up singing kumbaya in week 16, having voted no one off the island at all, would that really be an awful message to broadcast?

These 16 chose to hang together, and only get $66,666 dollars (hmmm, the mark of the devil).

But if they vote off some members, they would get more...so the temptation to be a rat would still be there. Right now, the message is "be a rat, every week, because we say so", and the contestants dutifully "follow orders".

Heck, you could really have fun with the numbers if it was done my way.

All 16 contestants start with a base pay of $10,000. This amount is increased by $50,000 for the remaining contestants every time one contestant gets voted off the island.

Sure would be mighty tempting to vote a couple people off the island now wouldn't it?...but how many, and when?

The situational politics would be much more compelling than letting these contestants simply "follow orders" and automatically vote someone off each week.

To see human beings rationalize the fate of their fellow human beings WHO THEY DID NOT HAVE TO ELIMINATE would be far more fascinating than to see them vote someone off because they are supposed to.

If those fuckers use my idea, I want compensation.

If they don't, they are stupider than recycled cow dung.

Of course this is America, so they would use my idea and vote me off the island!
